Comments about Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Hammock: Zipper strap became unstiched causing the mesh to tear. I still am using it three months later. Mesh is slowly ripping, therefore I can not prop it up as it was meant to be. It was nice for the first week when all was working Pros

Comments about Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Hammock: Slept in in 2 and a half nights (started to rain one night) and the stitching on the ends is already starting to come undone a little bit. It should last plenty longer though, it's nothing too bad so far. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Hammock: I bought this as a light weight alternative to a tent and sleeping pad when backpacking. It's met my expectations, but requires carrying an additional fly if rain is in the forecast. Pros

Comments about Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Hammock: I have taken it backpacking on the AT. I have found I sleep much better in it then in a tent on a mat. I love it. Pros

Comments about Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Hammock: I spent two nights on a Scout campout with this hammock. I had a great tarp to protect me from the rain--however, the hammock is tippy (note: I am athletic and have good balance) and the first night I had this hammock flip on me. The VERY first night I had this out the first flip caused an epic fail of the mesh netting and ripped the zipper off of the track. Either I'll return it (if they'll take it back) or scissor off the mesh and use it for backyard use. Dissappointed. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Hammock: Havent used it yet in the woods time will be judge nice for the price Pros

Q:
I know the capacity states it can hold 250 lbs, but how far over that is it actually a hazard?1 answer
A:
I would not advise going over the 250 lb limit. If this is required you may want to look at the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro Hammock with FREE Hammock Hanging KitQ:
Do you recommend this hammock or the hammock bliss noseeum hammock? What are the differences?1 answer
A:
The major difference between them is the color of the netting. The hammock bliss has black netting which may be easier to see through.Q:
I am looking to buy a hammock for use in Canada this summer. I am not real worried about being cold. I am more concerned about mosquitoes and rain. What would you recommend for me to buy? I am torn between trying to get a fly and jury rig something or go for a jungle hammock which seems a little smaller. I am 6'4" tall and 210 pounds. Thank you for your advice.2 answers
A:
This product will keep the bugs away but it will not provide protection from the rain. A generic tarp can be used to place over the hammock to ensure protection from the rain.A:
You might be "too tall" for this hammock. It's not one of the longer ones out there. Also, even in fairly mild temps you may get cold without some type of insulation under you. Even your sleeping bag will get compressed to the point of nil insulation in a hammock. I use a thermarest of closed cell foam pad in a Warbonnet Blackbird hammock. A little more $ but good for taller folks. A Hennesey Explorer would be another tall guy option.Q:
Does this hammock have slap straps included, or should I purchase the slap straps separately?1 answer
A:
Straps would have to be purchased separately.Q:
Does this hammock come with a rain fly ?1 answer
A:
No, the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Hammock does not come with a rainfly.Q:
is it rated for cold weather as well? say with a 0 degree sleeping bag?2 answers
A:
No hammock will be appropriate for cold weather, this is because there is nothing but cold air under the hammock, so heat will continue to be dissipated all night long.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
You could use it in cold weather, but being suspended in air would make you colder. The ground beneath you will keep you warmer with a proper mat and sleeping bag than the sleeping bag and a hammock.Q:
Is the netting removable on this or any other hammocks sold at campmor?1 answer
A:
The netting is not removable.
