This is a freestanding, scout tested shelter that is easy to set up and has a durable, stable shockcorded aluminum frame. Hooded windows in the rear and 1 in the door provide excellent venting even in rain while the breathable nylon canopy helps minimize condensation. I'd used my first one a couple/three times a year for almost thirty years until some well-meaning volunteers at an MS Ride set the tent up for me and bent the bejeezez out of the ridge pole. I can't imagine how they did it - probably wrapped it around a tree until it fit. I could have bent it straight again, but decided to just get an all new tent.

Comments about Eureka Timberline 2 Tent: Our troop has several of these & I have spent many nights in them. Vent it and tie it down like the instructions show and use a properly sized floor protector & you'll be unaffected by wind, rain & condensation! A little heavy, but worth it when you're dry & comfy all night. The optional vestibule is icing on the cake!

Comments about Eureka Timberline 2 Tent: We bought and have used this tent for over 20 years. We bought this peticular tent for our son who is building up his backpacking gear. He has used our tent and was thrilled to find this under the tree a Christmas. It was well priced and we know that it will last.

Comments about Eureka Timberline 2 Tent: I've only used the tent for one night of camping on a beach in Kauai but I can say that I was really pleased with how it held up against pretty substantial rain throughout the night. It never leaked and we were comfortable the entire night. I am looking forward to using it again in the future.

Comments about Eureka Timberline 2 Tent: Classic design that I used when I was in scouts 20 years ago. I can put this up blindfolded in a few minutes. It could be a little lighter but for the price an ease of use you can't go wrong.

Comments about Eureka Timberline 2 Tent: I have had three of these tents in 25 years. They are excellent tents. Dry in torrential rains, great ventilation, easy to set up, warm. Back in the 80's I bought my first one and would have given five stars if the recent version were made as well. Seems the fabric is a little thinner, the clips are plastic and not brass metal. Sign of the times, but still a great tent. I find that after a few years of moderate use, the floor is showing some wear despite using a footprint all the time. Still, you can't beat it for the money.

Cons
Best Uses Comments about Eureka Timberline 2 Tent: The tent fell below expectations, it might be good for two small children or one short adult. Way over priced for what it is. I would say that this is a $60 tent at best. A dome tent is a much better choice.

Comments about Eureka Timberline 2 Tent: My age 12 son set this great tent up entirely on his own right out of the box! All components went together with ease. Rainfly and zippers - smooth operation. Real test is in 2 weeks during wilderness campout. Updates then.

There is some variability on the color of the inner wall of the tent. Some Timberlines like an outfitter have a beige breathable wall.VERIFIED BUYER
