Q:
are size numbers in. 55in. almost 5 feet.1 answer
A:
No numbers are in cm so 55/2.54 = to the inches.Q:
How do I get the correct size on an ice axe?1 answer
A:
As a general rule you'd measure from the palm of your hand to the ground. This would be a good general walking and all around length. Now you may go a bit shorter for more severe uphill applications or even longer for down hill applications, that's up to you and the terrain most commonly encountered.
