  • Q:

I am looking for the warmest possible kids ski mitt for an 8 year old girl at a reasonable price. In the $20 range I see the Marmot Glade, Drop Junior Ripper III, Gordini Youth Aquabloc II and Outdoor Research Youth Adrenaline. A pocket for a hand-warmer packet is nice but not absolutely necessary. Can you tell me how the warmth & quality of these mittens compares? I see that the marmot has 150 insulation and the outdoor research has 200, does that mean there is a difference or maybe you can't compare those numbers across different brands... Also I could use help on sizing as I'm not exactly sure what size to get for a typical 8-year old girl. Thanks

      A:

150 grams verse 200 grams. A mitt with 200 grams will be warmer than a mitt with 150.
