Width and length effect floatation. Additionally floatation is a function of weight. The weight range for this snowshoe is (including any gear): 120-200 lbs. If you will weight more when carrying gear than the range above then move to the next size up in this snowshoe.Answered on 1/24/2013 by Steve from Campmor

Do they come in different sizes? I thought that usually the length of the snowshoe depended on the persons weight? I want to buy the atlas 825 or 830's for my boyfriend for christmas. The 825 would work for a person 120 Lb to 200 Lb. The 830 would work for a person 150 Lb -250 Lb.
