The Atlas 10 Series Snowshoe makes winter hiking a breeze, because exploration shouldn't stop when trails are blanketed with snow. The 1030 is the snowshoe of choice for hikers who want to stay active all winter long. Comfortable to walk on designed with a dedicated men's frame geometry, the 1030 floats over soft snow and hikes confidently on firm slopes with Traverse Trac rails. Spring-Loaded Suspension moves freely with your foot's natural articulation, and the addition of a climbing bar helps eliminate calf strain while hiking uphill. The padded Wrapp Swift binding adds an extra layer of warmth to the instep of the foot, and provides a technical fit while still being easy to use thanks to the positive toe locator. Binding straps that cinch and release like a breeze allow you to spend time enjoying the day instead of fiddling with your gear.
  • 6061 Aluminum V-Frame tracks straight in deep snow while the tapered tail pulls less snow, saving energy.
  • Wrapp Swift Bindings blend technical fit with comfort and ease of use.
  • Spring Loaded Suspension keeps the snowshoe close underfoot for easy manuevering ,natural articulation.and deeper crampon penetration.
  • Tempered steel toe crampon and Traverse-Trac™ rails
  • Durable Nytex decking
  • Heel lift bar makes ascents much easier

We used the shoes in the mountains and visited single track trails with various elevations. The shoes performed as promised and they are easy to put on and take off. I highly recommend the snow shoes.

Pros

  • Good floatation
  • Good Traction

Cons

  • Poor Bindings

Best Uses

Comments about Atlas Snow-Shoe Company Atlas 10 Series Snowshoe - Men's:

The new Atlas Wrap binding system does not work very well -- seems to loosen frequently and does not adequately keep my heel over the stomp point of the snowshoe. It appears they need to work on this design more. Otherwise, the shoe has good traction and acceptable floatation.

  • Q:

Is it correct in specs that the 35 inch is same length as the 30 inch but 1 inch wider difference? Going by the .2 pound weight difference between them it may be so. Or is it supposed to be 35 x 9 inches?

      A:

The 25 inch model for the Atlas 10 Series Snowshoe is generally recommendation for someone who weighs 180 lbs, excluding gear for heavy packed snow...the 30 inch model provides better flotation for lighter snow. .
