The 9 Series FRS snowshoes use Atlas? patent-pending Free-Rotating™ Suspension 9FRS) for natural articulation of the foot over uneven and sidehill terrain with minimal resistance ? providing the most comfortable, forgiving stride. The FRS system on these snowshoes flexes the aluminum V-Frame of the snowshoe with each step, providing the toe traction with deeper purchase into the snow. The flexible Wrapp™ bindings tighten easily and cradle the foot securely. The Nytex decking that Atlas uses allows great flexibility in the cold as well as abrasion resistance.

Our first outing included deep powder and hilly trail. We both loved the performance. The bindings are great and easy to use once you get the hang of them. It took me less than a minute to get them on and secured.

Comments about Atlas Snow-Shoe Company Atlas Elektra 927 FRS Snowshoe for Women: This snowshoe has given me the freedom to take my dog for winter hikes in the woods. The pivotal mechanism in the bindings give flexibility and prevents snow from kickingup or catching on the back of the shoe. They are light and the stability is outstanding. My only complaint is that the bindings are stiff making it a hassle to tighten or release.

The open design on the back collects snow and the pivoting mechanism flips it up terribly. I was soaked when I went out. Also, the binding is made out of hard plastic, which is stiff when it gets cold--like when you're out in the snow.
