Comments about Kwik Tek Dry Pak GPS, PDA, Pocket PC Case 5" x 8":

This my second Dry Pak case. After testing the first one that I got in April, I ordered a second.

In Oregon, almost all water craft are required to carry an invasive species (IS) permit. This Dry Pak case was primarily acquired to carry the permit while we are kayaking or canoeing . I also carry my fishing license, fish permits, and a very small wallet in it. With the view front it makes it easy to show the IS permit to the Fish & Wildlife officers while on the water. The neck lanyard makes it handy and easy to carry. I have not used it for electronics.

The one con that I have concerns the pack edges at the top. They are exposed at the pack's crease. To me this looks like a potential weak point. So far neither bag has shown any problem, but we are careful.

Will the Garmin eTrex H be able to gather information while in this Dry Pak, or is it just for storage when the GPS is not in use?

        A:

As long as the GPS is on and able to receive signals it should be able to take reading. As for whether you can operate it through the dry bag, there would be some reduction of dexterity.
