Trango Jaws Belay Tool

Item #: 32510

Our Price: $22.95

Trango Jaws™ was the first enhanced friction, multi-mode device. Belaying the Son of Hulk on a scary runout? No problem. Need to make a 200-foot free rappel? Casual. Just get a new set of twin ropes that feel awfully skinny? No worries. When you need a positive and secure lock-off, run the brake side of the ropes through the unique double V-notches of the Trango Jaws. In this configuration, Jaws has more stopping power than any other belay/rappel device we can find. Turn Jaws around and run the braking rope over the smooth side when you need a lightning fast feed on trad or alpine terrain. Don't worry about catching a fall, because in this mode Jaws has outstanding braking ability. Rappels are smooth and controlled with Jaws. The large rope slots make it easy to set up, the V-notches control the speed and the flat rope path really prevents kinking. For low-angle or long double rope rappels, you can turn Jaws around so the free end of the rope runs over the smooth side.
  • The first enhanced friction, multi-mode device.
  • V-slots allow greater stopping power
  • High and regular friction modes allow the device to accept ropes from 7.5 to 11 mm.
  • The durable cable resists getting caught up in ropes.
  • Wt. 2.4oz (68g).
  • Assorted colors, sorry no choice.
  • Twin Ropes - 7.5 mm
  • Half Ropes - >8.2 mm
  • Single Ropes - 8.9 - 11m

    Comments about Trango Jaws:

i learned on this and it was a piece of cake. the jaws on one end give you great traction if your belaying a heaver person or if your break hand is not as strong and the other side is great for rappelling.
