Comments about Outdoor Research Sun Runner Cap: I used this during a week-long canoe trip through the Everglades. It did a fantastic job of protecting me from the sun without making my head hot. The back strap did seem a teeny bit high on the back of my head, but it didn't slip from there.

Comments about Outdoor Research Sun Runner Cap: I can't say enough good things about this hat. It does exactly what it was designed for, and extremely well. I hike mainly in Southern California, both deserts and mountains, been doing it since the late 60's. This is by far the best solution for long, warm, unshaded travel. It's very light, dries quickly, and offers excellent sun protection. It's "all day" comfortable on the most tortuous of hikes. I'm often asked by other sundrenched, overheated hikers...."Hey! Where did you get that hat?" I've owned mine for 7 years now, and it still performs like new, even after many washings. These are very durable hats. OR build quality is still Top-Notch, and their stuff really lasts. I have a big head, and I got the XL. It fits very well....just right. I will admit that you might not look too "fashionable" on the trail while wearing this hat. It does look a bit....different. But If true Function is important to you, you won't mind, BUT, be prepared for hot, miserable hikers to ask you...."Hey! Where did you get that hat?"
