Wearing one of these will make you look geeky, no question. Should you *care*? Absolutely Not.

If you hang w/ paddlers, they'll get it: you're out on the water, maybe far from land; you loose something overboard that doesn't float, it's gone.

If you wear glasses, this (or something like it) is important, if not essential.

I use these everyday on my sunglasses and have for years. I work around water and can't afford losing a pair of prescription safety sunglasses. I have a hard time locating these in stores so it's nice to be able to get them for this price here.

I have a strong prescription so need to hold my glasses (or shades) tightly when I jog or do other exercises. These work very well because I can adjust how tightly they hare held on my head. I also sail and am very concerned about losing my glasses overboard but often don't want them held very tightly on my head so I can loosen these up. The only problem is that I have one pair of sunglasses with very wide temple pieces and I have to work a bit to get these on them. But, if they were much bigger they would slip off my other glasses that have skinny wire temple pieces. So, these work for both cases and I don't have to carry special ones for each pair of glasses.

Bought them to secure my prescription sunglasses while fishing in the Florida Keys. Very snug and comfortable. Does not let your glasses slip from your face during fast boat movement.
