I've tried the vinegar trick and the baking soda trick and none worked to fully get the metallic smell out. After about a month it did decrease a large amount (or I just got use to it) but it is still there. I don't know if it's just cause of the smell but I feel like water almost tastes like metallic too. It definetly retains oders a lot more than my old plastic bottle too. It was so cheap it wsn't worth returning. On the plus side it is very durable, I've never had a leaking issue and I like the loop cap top.

Comments about Campmor Stainless Steel Water Bottle 25 oz BPA-Free: I usually like Campmor products, but this bottle was a big disappointment. It leaks! The cap doesn't screw on well enough to hold any water - ALL of the water leaks out. I called Campmor customer service about it - the shipping/handling costs almost as much as the bottle, so it's not worth returning. They said they'd send a new one to me, but I haven't seen it yet. Low cost = low quality - don't purchase.

We didn't know what that was until we started using it and found out the cap was broken and the water leaked into our backpack. I sent it back for a refund. The other one works fine. But I don't think that I will buy this brand again.
