Comments about Equinox Komperdell Vario Flex Tungsten Carbide Tips: The tip wore out on my old R*I/Komperdell graphite hiking staff. I ordered this part to try to replace it. I cut the old tip parallel to the shaft with a fine-tooth hacksaw blade, removing it without damaging the shaft. At first when I tried to attach the new tip with RTV, it just came off and didn't stick. At first when I tried to press fit the new tip, it just pushed back off. But later on it stuck, not clear why. Seems fine now. Was able to reuse an expensive staff that is no longer in stock.

Comments about Equinox Komperdell Vario Flex Tungsten Carbide Tips: My Komperdell poles did not have this type of tip. The tip was the pole itself with a carbide nub at the end. I lost one of the nubs. To use these replacement tips, I had to knock off the basket holder by surrounding it with a wrench and then hitting with a hammer. My pole ends went right into these new tips. I pounded them on and I was good to go. Pros

Comments about Equinox Komperdell Vario Flex Tungsten Carbide Tips: I was glad to finally find these Komperdell replacement tips at Campmor, and at a fair price. I bought the trekking poles themselves from a different vendor 2 months ago, and later found that the diameter of the bottom-most section of the poles was too narrow to hold the Komperdell protective caps and walking tips I bought more recently. Fortunately, the latter two items fit on these new, wider diameter replacement tips. UNfortunately, I had to fit the replacements over the original, two-month old tips long before the end of their useful lives.
