Comments about The North Face Tadpole 23 - Tent: I have owned this tent for years, but due to a home fire, I had to replace this tent. I looked at all the new tents and ended up buying the same tent again. Kinda of liked it in blue better in the past model. Overall, I have used this tent in all seasons with no problems. Not the lightest tent around, but has held up great in all conditions and seasons.

Comments about The North Face Tadpole 23 - Tent: This is a good, solidly made backpacking tent. A bit on the heavy side, but it has straightforward construction, simple set up and is a fairly comfortable 1-person backpacking tent. About the only improvement I would make would be to put a tie out point on the tail of the rain fly. In rain, this area touches the mesh and can allow water inside. Simply putting a tie-out here would improve ventilation and make this a drier tent in wet conditions. It's not been an issue for me, I'm just saying. For one person, it's snug lengthwise but comfortable enough and I'm 6'2". Inside storage pockets and hang points are a plus. No worries with construction or materials used. It's solidly made.

Comments about The North Face Tadpole 23 - Tent: Great backpacking tent for short trips. Too cramped for two people for extendend backpaking trips.

Comments about The North Face Tadpole 23 - Tent: Works great as a one person tent with room inside for gear. Would sleep two persons, but gear would be under fly or out side. If under fly you could probably only get one persons gear under it and it would be difficult to get out of tent over the gear. Great backpacking tent for one person. Light weght easy to set up with room to site up inside the tent.

Comments about The North Face Tadpole 23 - Tent: I used this tent on several backpacking trips in Colorado, Washington state etc.I'm 6'2" 210lbs and it was enough room inside for me and another person to sleep. Backpacks and boots went to vestibule, of course. We had to take turns in taking off and putting on our clothes, and accessory mesh shelf was right on my head while sitting, but it was enough space to place 2 ThermoRest Pads and 2 Mummies and sleep in comfort. Great ventilation. My friend's custom made single wall alpinist's tent for $500+ made sleeping bags wet by condensation on that night, while nothing even close in this tent.

Comments about The North Face Tadpole 23 - Tent: Its our third North Face tent. I would never have anything else because they are the most reliable in wind and snow. This one was a great surprise with the 360 degree view without the fly on! Unimpeded star gazing. wow.

Comments about The North Face Tadpole 23 - Tent: I purchased my second Tadpole to replace the one that had its mesh door shredded by a dog. I haven`t tested it yet but the first thing I noticed about my new tent was that it arrived in a normal sack, not a compression sack(none included). The tent`s poles are full length and the stakes are long, steel boat anchors straight outta [@]. The stakes do not fit into the pole sack to conveniently make the length of the packed tent, such as the old style. Also, the rain fly is made of a different kind of material than the old one(probably cheaper). Probably still a good tent but the drop in quality is very disappointing.

Comments about The North Face Tadpole 23 - Tent: This tent is rated as "2-man" but I don't think two people could actually use it together. I love the tent and plan to use it for myself or allow my two boys to use it together. My first experience was with me (6' 190#) and my oldest boy (4'6" 70#)and we were cramped. I'll be purchasing another larger tent for additional family trips.
