Comments about Black Diamond Distance FL Z-Pole Trekking Poles: I use these poles for hiking the Adirondack Mountains. There is varied terrain and these poles are great for stability and you hike the trails. They adjust easy and are sturdy. The grip is comfortable also. I liked that the poles came with different tips and a storage bag also.

Comments about Black Diamond Distance FL Z-Pole Trekking Poles: We tested our Black Diamond collapsible trekking poles on three hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park: Ouzel Falls, Balanced Rock and Deer Mountain. On the flats we strapped them to the bottoms of our day packs where their collapsed size and light weight made them virtually unnoticeable. We put them in play with a very quick assembly process and then would shorten them for uphills and lengthen them for downhills. The bottom line was better hiking stability on rocky and muddy and sandy trails, less joint wear, and more energy leftover at the end of the day. You could say we liked 'em.

Q:
I am unsure of what length would be best for me and thought you might offer some guidance.2 answers
A:
If you go to the manufacturer's website under the product itself in the tech specs will have a sizing chart to assist you in your purchase. It's an excellent chart to figure out what you need when the size of the pole is fixed.A:
Generally you want to adjust these so when you are walking your elbow is bent at a 90 degree angle on flat ground. A longer adjustment when walking down hill and a shorter adjustment when climbing.
