Best Uses Comments about Eureka Apex 2 - Tent: My sons and I used it for Philmont and the training hikes for it. The fly "vestibule" is basically open to the rain, with only about a foot or so that's far enough into the angle to create an "awning" effect, so it is completely and utterly useless at keeping the rain from getting any gear wet that's in the vestibule. Also, the zipper to open the tent and climb out starts on the non-awning-covered end. The instant you try to crawl out of the tent in the rain, the tent starts to fill with water. This is a colossally stupid design and I regret spending the money on the tent. I tried calling the manufacturer to complain and get a refund and their response was no, so I let them know that my reviews were going to be bad. DON'T BUY THIS TENT!

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 - Tent: While I gave this a great review after a 5 day dry horsepacking trip, I now have to write following an 8 day trip with an all night rain and several afternoon into evening rains. The tent bottom leaked (with ground cloth, tent bottom and silver emergency blanket set up) and the sides leaked where the rain fly provided no protection. Happily, Campmor has been very helpful in allowing me to return the tent.

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 - Tent: This is an ok Tent. It was easy to set up and the poles appear to be ok. Used it for the first time in strong wind. The fly is an issue on the short sides the wind went right through the tent. You have to set this tent up with the lower fly perpendicular to the wind direction.

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 - Tent: Most important, a light tent to carry on a 2 or 3 day trip camping trip in Southern California ( Whitney, Catalina ), easy to set up by single person, enough room for sleeping bag and space for gear. A great product under $100.

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 - Tent: We had five straight days of clear skies and cold nights. I was very pleased with the ease of use. It seems that it would be quite cramped with 2 people with even minimal gear...one duffel, riding boots, hat, sleeping bag... but perhaps it could be done.

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 - Tent: Purchashed the tent for lightweight backpacking adventures, could not have found a better tent! The dual doors are a great design. I am awake way before anyone else, no climbing over everyone to sneak out of the tent to start the breakfast of the mornings. However, I wish the rain fly would stretch a little further from the door. A small item to deal with considering the tent has all the other qualities I wanted.

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 - Tent: This tent is great for backpacking which I do along the appalachian trail. It has an enormous amount of space considering how small it is when stuffed in the outer bag. While earning my eagle scout we only used Eureka tents. That's all I use now as a 30 yr old backpacker. I am pleased with this tent.

Comments about Eureka Apex 2 - Tent: Nice product and priced right with the sale. I am 6'4" and need the extra room, plenty for a single with backpack gear, two is okay as long as the packs are outside. Very easy to set up, did not even look at the directions. It was actually pouring rain when we set it up. Went together quick. The fly needs a little work as it does not cover the entire doors on each side. So getting in and out in the rain would let water enter the tent. Great bath tub floor design. We were literally in a puddle and no water came through from underneath. I would recommend this product.
