Comments about Eureka Tetragon 8 - Four Person Tent:

My Webelo and I had absolutely no problem setting this tent up in under 10 minutes. For space it doesn't get much better, love the gear loft it came with and the movable hanging pockets were nice for storage. It seems pretty water/wind tight although the couple of times we've used it it's not stormed. I think it's a bit too heavy for any serious (5+ day) backpacking but if you split it up between 2-3 folks you could probably go on 2-3 day backpack trips w/o much complaining. I think it's a solid 3 season tent. I wouldn't try it in heavy snowfall IMHO. It's ideal for car camping! It does collect condensation inside but I've never had a tent that doesn't collect a little. Eureka makes a good product. It could easily sleep 3 adults with gear, but 4 and you better really like your tentmates esp if you want to keep some packs/gear inside. For family campouts and scout level stuff I don't think there's much better.

Comments about Eureka Tetragon 8 - Four Person Tent:

I've used this tent for 5 years, a couple times a year for Cub Scout camping and occasionally to set up in the back yard. Once you set it up a time or two, it is pretty easy, even singlehanded.
Lots of room for two. Never tried 4.
No problems with fabric, seams, zippers, or other gear. Always used a tarp as a groundcloth.
I'd buy another Eureka based on this tent.

Wish it had interior side pockets (for flashlight/headlamp). Easy set-up for two, fairly easy set-up for one. Plenty of headroom. Large windows let you see night sky. Clip system SO much easier than sleeves for poles, especially when setting up each night for 3-week trip.

Camped for week in NH which naturally started off with rain. Tent set up easy. Stayed dry. Some condensation on sides but floor was perfect. Packs small. Carries easily. Definitely comfortable for 2 adults with gear...3 if you don't mind squishing.

Comments about Eureka Tetragon 8 - Four Person Tent:

I bought this tent to use at a big music festival, after not camping for 30 years or so. For 2 people I would say it is somewhat difficult to set up, for one person it would be very difficult because of the way that the two poles cross each other and have to be secured. The fly really needs a window or some way to let the air in when it's 100 degrees outside and not raining. But the thing that irritated me the most was the door's zipper. EVERY TIME I zipped or unzipped the door, the zipper got caught on fabric from the tent and got stuck. Extremely annoying. It made me think that zipper technology hasn't advanced at all in the 30 years since I last went camping. I remember zippers getting stuck and eventually going bad way back in the 70's. The positive side to this tent is that it is a tent, it kept us dry during a brief rain, but there is nothing special about it to recommend.

Comments about Eureka Tetragon 8 - Four Person Tent:

Tent overall should be excellent quality and value. Attractive appearance. Fly assembly went fine after we solved the puzzle sweating out instructions and diagrams but unclear diagrams. Took imaginative farmer and engineer/MBA (two people) 30 minutes to solve fly puzzle while storm was approaching ... night of first assembly/use. Metal fitting on fly support rod fell off night one, found when taking tent down in ground cloth on morning 5. Jerry-rigged fly with stakes and line for this vacation.
Fly is simple to set-up once you solve Rubic's Cube instructions.

Tent ceiling, walls and floor were rain tight during deluge in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. No condensation due to liberal screen fabric.

Borrowed this old tent from a friend. Used in the BWCA wilderness on a 7 day trip. You can touch the sides when you sleep and not get wet. Rained and blew pretty hard, we were comfortable and dry. I plan to buy this tent before my next trip.
