Best Uses Comments about The Sierra Designs Y Peg Stakes - 6 PK: After only one trip all of these pegs were bent at the notch and one was bent in the middle. One broke at the notch. This as in an area (Big Bend) with hard ground but other pegs did just fine. Spend a little extra for MSR Ground Hog pegs. They seem to be made of sterner stuff and have survived many trips to Big Bend

Comments about The Sierra Designs Y Peg Stakes - 6 PK: I bought these pegs to go along with an Eagles Nest Outfitters profy I purchased for my granddaughter's birthday. They"re light and strong and should work well with the progly.

Comments about The Sierra Designs Y Peg Stakes - 6 PK: The first time I used these pegs in the hard ground of Big Bend National Park they broke at the notch. This notch is too deep so it does not leave enough metal at the bottom to take being pounded in to hard ground with a rock. In soft ground they work, but not in hard ground. The notch is deeper than the MSR "Groundhog" pegs. It may also be that the MSR is made from tougher stuff. They seem to survive Big Bend OK.

Comments about The Sierra Designs Y Peg Stakes - 6 PK: These are a noticeable improvement over the weak aluminum pins with most tents and are a good choice in most grounds. However, they are not as strong as the MSR ones and they will bend at the top at the string notches. This occurred in extremely hard ground, basically a grass covered gravel parking lot. Using a mix of these and the red ones, several of these bent and no red ones did.

Comments about The Sierra Designs Y Peg Stakes - 6 PK: These stakes were perfect. Lightweight, easy to drive and they were perfect for holding a guy line which is what I bought them for. Light enough that taking a few extra wont be a concern but made well enough that you wont need extras because they break. This is coming from a person that ultimately breaks gear that is not up to snuff. Not these.

Comments about The Sierra Designs Y Peg Stakes - 6 PK: My new "go to" stake - I've replaced the stakes in all of my lightweight (backpacking) tents with these.

Comments about The Sierra Designs Y Peg Stakes - 6 PK: My family and I like to car camp and we live in Georgia. Unfortunatly GA state parks have gravel as the camp site and you are not allowed to set up on the grass. Plastic tent stakes shatter. and other bend. I have only used these once so far, but they went in past the gravel (with effort) and came out in one piece. Plus they held our large family tent in place when a storm blew in. I would purchase these again in a heartbeat.
