The Timberline SQ 2XT tent from Eureka sleeps 2 and is a classic tent updated with the latest in frame technology. The 2XT adds a storage vestibule built right onto the front of the tent and a second door for convenience and improved ventilation. The Timberline series has been famous for years as the Scout's tent of choice, Why? Because of ease of set up, durability and reliability. Well Eureka just made it better with a stronger and easier to set up aluminum frame set. The frame is so tough that Eureka began to compare it to the strength and durability of the giant Sequoia tree and the name stuck (SQ). A stronger, thicker ridge pole and the SQ frame's spreader pole not only increase overall frame strength but adds more usable living space to the interior of the tent. Improved ventilation with the addition of 2 generous roof vents mean long humid tent nights will be much more comfortable than in the past. In addition Eureka has lengthened the side of the fly for even more coverage and added vestibule wings to the rear of the tent to protect the 2nd door from weather. Some of the good old parts remain like the use of RipStop materials on the fly for strength and worry free use. This is a classic tent and it just got better.

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 2XT Tent: Tried it out last weekend and loved it....

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 2XT Tent: First: This is a wonderful tent. Second: If you read my method for inserting the spreader rod on the SQ 4XT fly, don't do it on this one! The Eureka people realizing that folks were having a hard time getting the spreader rod into the little pockets on the fly, re-designed one of the pockets to have an open side to allow the rod to be slipped in easier. Once the rod is in, the pocket is closed with a velcro strap. It's too bad the instructions don't mention this change. My old eyes didn't see the change to the pocket so I tried to gently lever the rod in and ripped the fly. Campmor customer service sent me a new one, Thanks you guys! Great service!

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 2XT Tent: This is one of the very best values for an all around true 2 person tent. For this price point you get full sized, free standing, 2 person tent that's E-Z to set up. Its very strong A-frame design makes it a full 3.5 season tent that could be pressed into many 4 season roles (although not the hard core Everest base camp adrenaline junkie missions I guess).

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 2XT Tent: So easy for a single female to set up and take down. Love the fly!

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 2XT Tent: Everything about this tent is quality. Nice ripstop fly, solid zippers, well coated polyester, tough mesh. The problem I had was with the spreader pole.... WAY too tight on mine. The method of placing pocket-in-pocket to attach the fly to the spreader is clumsy, and actually very hard. Maybe my example was a bit off in "tailoring". Lucky that all the pockets, corners, etc. are extremely well sewn-in, with generous seam taping. Still, a few stitches pulled, and the tape separated when stretching the fly over the spreader. I will attest to the quality of design and construction though, really spacious, and with a superior vestibule, vented doors (something which seems to have gone out of style), and compactness. Despite the size, it packs down well, it fits easily in the stuff sacks for some of my other tents. A better bag would be good!

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 2XT Tent: Bought three new tents for our Scout Troop, adding to a fleet of Timberline XTs. Glad to see that all of the bungee tie-outs are gone and the headroom inside is much larger than with the earlier version. New SQ hub is bulky, but then you can't lose it either as it is shock-corded through with the poles. Weird: None of the bags colors or sizes were the same with any of the three tents, though all of tents and flys matched.

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 2XT Tent: This tent was certainly worth the money. It is durable and very easy to set up. I use it for scout camping and we go at least once a month. On our last trip, it poured and everyone's tent flooded except mine. This tent is phenomenal and I would recommend it to anyone who loves camping and wants a quality tent!

Comments about Eureka Timberline SQ 2XT Tent: I had used 2 person Timberlines for years, the quality got worse. I bought an Awahanee in 1997, very good tent. It finally wore out, at 71, I did not want to spend that much, again. I tried the SQ 2XT by Eurkea, though it's still new, I know enough about tents, that's it's well worth what I paid. I have no doubt that it will serve me well.
