The Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 2 can sleep 2 campers. It weighs a mere 2 lbs 10oz. Q:
What is the best way to set up the fly creek in the rain? I would like to think I could set up the rain fly first and then the tent. However, it seems I would have to put down the footprint 1st since it has the grommets for the poles - the footprint will then get wet. Then I would set up the tent - mesh and inside tent would then get wet. Then I would set up the fly which is the only thing that is supposed to get wet. . . . Maybe I should just let the footprint get wet, then set up the fly and then the tent under the fly as best I can. . . .

Thoughts?

- A:
  I would suggest first readying your poles so they can be attached right away. If you had a tarp to tie above the site inthe trees that would be best to provide some cover. Then clipping the foot print directly to the tent bottom before setting anything up. Quickly attach poles and have fly ready to toss over tent right after poles are in place. This method should keep your footprint dry and allow you to limit the moisture that gets inside the tent.

  It is free standing, but you need to stake it out in order to get the full square footage of the floor. The walls sag and the foot box is very small if it is not staked out. This is also a VERY light tent, and it wouldn't take much to blow it away if it either didn't have some gear in it, or if it wasn't staked down.

  Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 2 Tent is self supporting. It still needs to be staked so it will not blow away.
