Comments about The North Face Mountain 25 Tent: I use it 3.000mt. mountain in high wind and snow storm. Set up was a bit hard for me. 2 persons can set up it more easily.

Comments about The North Face Mountain 25 Tent: Finally got this tent after seeing my friends enjoying theirs so much. They had braved the winds last summer at 10,000' at the base of Mt. Coness(Northern Sierras), while I struggled a bit with my 3-season. Last week I pitched it on the snow on Mt. San Jacinto and it withstood the 30mph+ winds no problem. Keep in mind that it is easier to get your tiedowns out of the snow if they are tied to sticks - not basketball-sized granite boulders!!

Comments about The North Face Mountain 25 Tent: I used this tent on a winter overnight in the White Mtns in NH. Temp: 10 deg, wind 65 mph. It set up in minutes, kept us comfortable warm all night w/o a wisp of wind. Plenty of storage pockets and room to cook in the vestibule. Great tent !

Comments about The North Face Mountain 25 Tent: Use this tent for wilderness snow camping. It does not seem to vent very well in very cold weather, but has large ridge vents . Works best if you leave door to vestibule partially open at top. It also is quite small for two adults even with gear in vestibule. It is perfect for myself and 80# lab. It is extremely sturdy and noticeably warmer than outdoor temp. It is to heavy for packing but great in sled or canoe. I would recommend if you want a well built and bullet proof winter storm tent.

Q:
My daughter is going to Alaska and will be camping on a glacier for two weeks. Will this tent keep her warm and dry or do I need to get a more extreme weather tent for her. She gets cold easy.1 answer
A:
This is an expedition style tent for the harshest of weather. It will protect from snow and wind but a tent alone is not what keeps you warm. The tent is a protectant from outside elements. The sleeping bag and sleeping mat are what you depend on to keep you warm. Look for a bag appropriately rated for the temps you will be experiencing and a mat that has the proper R-value for the same temps.| CAPACITY | 2 |
