Regular Price: $74.95

The Big Agnes insulated Air Core Pad is a Backpacker Magazine Editor's Choice Award Winner. Designed for those that covet ultra light, compact gear; they are not self inflating, but in a few breaths you will enjoy out of this world comfort.
  • 2.5" thick, 3.5 season Air Core pad filled with PrimaLoft™ eco synthetic down insulation for a 15 deg. Temperature rating.
  • Full length 2.5" thick pad is lightweight at 18 oz. and packs to a small, compact 4.5" x 9" about the size of a Nalgene bottle.
  • If used in a Big Agnes sleeping bag, the pad can be deflated, left in the pad sleeve and stuffed in the sleeping bag stuff sack.
  • The contoured mummy shape is 20" wide x 60" long.
  • Unique construction technique prevents the insulation from shifting inside the air chambers.
  • The I-beam construction technique is functionally superior to the typical welded-through construction of other air mats. Die cut holes in each I-beam allow air to flow freely between chambers giving constant support and comfort.
  • I-beam construction makes inflation quick and easy.
  • Durable, lightweight 50 denier diamond nylon ripstop top and bottm.
  • Durable, water repellent (DWR) coating sheds water and stains.
  • Prima Loft features a silicone treatment which serves as an anti-microbial within the pad.
  • Internal polyurethane (PU) coating makes pad waterproof.
  • Lightweight, durable plastic valve.
  • Insulated Air Core Pads come with a stuff sack and repair kit.

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Mummy Pad - Short 60"" x 20"":

I ordered these for my twins and their new sleeping bags. These fit inside the bags and the kids slept like a dream. When I backpack alone I take one it gets stuffed in my sleeping bag stuff sack with the bag.I love how it is so easy to inflate and deflate.

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Mummy Pad - Short 60"" x 20"":

Absolutely the last piece of equipment I'd give up from my pack! After a day of rugged activity a good sleep is essential and the Big Agnes Sleep Pad of whatever configuration you choose offers the hands-down best balance of comfort, light weight, compactness, and durability. We have three of these in the family which have been in use for five years in expeditions to Cumberland Island, Philmont Scout Ranch, Boundary Waters Wilderness, Yellowstone, and many miles on the Southern AT and we have never never lost a night's sleep due to pad failure.

This is an inflatable but at 2.5 inches thick it gives enough padding to lift the sleeper completely off the ground, but not so big as to be a huge chore to inflate. At less than 20 ozs it weighs more than a Therm-a-rest, but the Big Agnes actually separates you from the terrain umderneath! The pad is not immortal. After 5+ years the pads have developed slow leaks, possibly from the valve seal, that require partial re-inflation 1-2 times in a night.

Deflated the pad takes up about 1-liter of volume when rolled into the provided stuff sack. I decrease weight by skipping the storage bag and folding the pad flat into my sleeping bag's compression sack. This way the pad takes up no discernible space in the pack. It takes about 30 puffs to fully inflate to rigidity, although some like the mattress to be just a little soft to provide more cushioning.

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Mummy Pad - Short 60"" x 20"":

I LOVE this pad! I've used thermarest pads, both the larger self inflating type as well as a pro lite 3. I am a side sleeper, and I never got a good nights rest on those. I'd flop from side to side all night and wake up with really sore hips and a sore back! This pad is super comfy - best night of sleep I've gotten in the woods hands down. I've seen some reviewers complain about having to blow it up - but that takes maybe 60 seconds, and you save that time in the morning when it comes time to deflate it, as you can just open up the valve while you are still laying on it and it deflates on it's own. Great pad - highly recommended. I use it with a Big Agnes sleeping bag that has the built in sleeve so you don't roll off. Excellent!!!
