I like it until I tried to sharpen it, hated it when the weld on the ring snapped. It does work well, it is lightweight and compact. But if it gets dull and its a big pain to sharpen and it breaks when you need it, its not very useful then.

After 8 years of using my first chain saw, I totally wore it out! It was very helpful for pruning a small crepe myrtle and an ivy shrub over the years. I've just ordered my second pocket chain saw and look forward to using it.

What a great product. I have not had a chance to take camping yet, but have used it around the yard trimming trees and on medium size logs for firewood, and it works great. Every pack needs one of these: much safer than a hatchet plus much easier to use & smaller than a normal saw.

bought this to take camping with a 4+ mile hike. First night of using this the weld snapped on the piece that attaches the handle to the saw blade. worked well until it broke.

I've tried folding saws but got a chance to try one of these on a scout outing. Had to have my own. Also a nice tool for yard work.

I recently put this saw through a 4 day backpacking trip. I used it every night and was impressed about how fast and easy this thing cut through logs. I used the saw on logs as small as 2 in. to large logs 1 ft. in diameter. The large logs need 2 people, a person on each side, to cut all the way through. Logs 8 in. and under are fine for 1 person. On the beach I could see where a previous camper attempted to cut though a large log with an axe and failed. They probably got too tired with the slow process of chipping away at the wood and quit. I broke out my pocket chain saw and blazed through the log in 1 min. The only small negative is that this thing will rust if you don't clean and oil when you get home.....but, this goes for any piece of equipement. If you don't clean and maintain it won't last. The saw is small, compact and really will fit in your pocket. It also comes with a chew can size metal can that you can fold and store the saw and metal rings. The plastic hand grips, that come with the saw, will have to be stored separately. If you need a camp saw this is the one to buy.

I purchased this saw to cut a stubborn root. It was perfect. I only needed to dig a small hole to place the saw under the root. It only took a few minutes to cut a 5 inch diameter root.

I also used this saw to cut a high tree limb. I added a rope to the handles and was able to make the cut safely from the ground. That was much easier and safer than standing on a wobbly ladder and cutting big branches with a hand saw.

Compared to other survival saws, this one is definately more durable, while being easy to use. The saws generally packed in survival kits are more for lite use, where this one can take a bit of abuse and still cut. Nice product!
