Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent: The rain fly is excellent and holds up well in a down pour. Excellent quality. I would always buy Kelty.

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent: I use these tents as a fleet for the wilderness canoe trips I guide. The tent works very well and is roomy for 3 adults. It is easy to set up and does so quickly and the ventilation is very good so there is almost no condensation inside the tent in the morning. VERY water and wind proof. This tent has weathered many strong storms. My only desire for change is for a bit sturdier floor material. Buy the footprint as it will extend the life of the tent bottom.

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent: For starters the tent was very easy to setup.I wanted a tent that I could take backpacking with my family. After lots of research this seemed to be the best all around tent. My son and I unpacked it and set it up in a matter minutes. It was his first night out. The tent was great for star gazing. The weather was great so we left the rain fly off. I hate to say that I woke up to a wet tent. The worse part was it was wet on my sons side. I couldn't figure it out. With the footprint and the waterproof seams. I'm new to this but I'm not sure if I should try some seam sealer or send it back. I'm going to try once more and see If I can figure it out. Overall I'm happy with the quailty of the tent, but lets face it we all want to be dry.

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent: We recently bought this for a 4 person backpacing tent. We wanted the entire family in one tent so we can play cards, and so that the kids will be close to mom as we sleep.

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent: The Bottom Material doesn't seem very durable and could tear easily. Be sure and have a STORNG ground cloth.

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent: Knowing that poles in sleeves tend to be more wind resistant than clips...I was interested to see how it would hold up when we camped on Asseteague Island in unusually high winds. The tent boogied all night long but stood firm!

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent: I love this tent. We set up at least a dozen in the store and browsed lots more before ordering this one online.

Comments about Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent: I used this tent on the North Slope of AK and it suited us well. The only concern I have is the plastic snaps on the poles. If any one of these snaps broke, I was not sure how we could have repaired them to salvage the tent. It would be nice if a repair kit was included for these plastic snaps at the bottom of the poles as well as the one on the top.

A:
On the side of the fly there is a small clear window.Q:
I used the footprint and didn't use the rainfly. Woke to a wet tent. There was alot of dew that morning. Is this to be expected?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
In order to prevent dew from making the inside of this tent wet you will need to use the rain fly.Q:
Is the packaged weight the weight with the cover, or is it the weight with the shipping box?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Packed weight is the weight of the tent carried with the fly, poles and stakes included.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
I would say the packed weight it is without the box. I just weighed mine with poles, fly, tent and stakes in the bag, and my bathroom scale is reading 8.5 lbs. This is not a long haul backpacking tent unless you can divvy up the components out to three people.Q:
What are demensions; L x W x H ?1 answer

Merchant response: From your description of how you set the tent up without the fly on a clear night, it sounds like the moisture was dew. Even if the night is a good star gazing night the fly should be on the tent to prevent dew from penetrating the netting and getting the inside of the tent wet.
