Haven't used it yet so in a week or so when I do I will rate it again till then.

Definitely not an axe I would say more of a hatchet, I should have read the dimensions better. The sheave is off utility built material. The saw looks like it can handle its self. Fits in the handle nicely(Haven't hit anything with it though).

Great lil hatchet. The saw seems a little ridiculous, as anything you could do with the saw you could do with the hatchet itself. I saw other reviews comlaining about the saw coming loose, but if this is an issue, take the saw out while you chop. Well worth the cash.

Well made axe has a good grip and swings nice. The Saw in the handle can pop out every once in a while, but not something I would worry about when carrying around. The small saw is useful, wouldn't try to take down a tree with it. But for small work it does well. The axe itself is a little lighter than I would have liked. The blade of the axe is sharp and doesn't seem to have dulled much. Over all give it an A.

This is my second Gerber axe, the first one I've had for 14 years and it still works great, just wanted this one for the saw in the handle. I've used it on three backpacking trips so far and I cant believe how useful the saw has proven to be, well worth the added weight.

Great little axe and saw to take to the Adirondacks for a week of canoeing and camping. Worked great to keep the campfire going without being too heavy for the portages.

This is a great quality axe. The blade has some heft to it but the handle if very light and feels solid. You can get a very powerful swing with it.

I am not a huge fan of the mangnetic lock for the saw blade in the handle. A couple hard blows and the saw starts to work it's way out. I am not worried about this though, it feels like there is a pretty tight rubber bushing holding the saw blade deep inside the handle so I don't think it going anywhere. Using the blunt side to pound in tent stakes is a little awkward because the blunt end leaves no clearance for your fingers when the stake gets close to the ground and you are trying to make a level swing.
