Comments about Eureka Hex Screen House:

I wrote this because this tent stays in our yard all year. We love it. It sits under our maple tree next to our bird feeders and my wife loves to sit outside watching the birds and relaxing. Eventually the tent will fail, it is not intended for constant use. We just put up another. It is a great product and we thank you so much!

    Great car camping tent

    By trekkers

    Pros

    • Easy updown
    • Excellent vision
    • Good overall shape
    • Zippers are great so far

    Cons

      Best Uses

Comments about Eureka Hex Screen House:

It's a wonderful screen tent for keeping out the insects. Well-built and easy up and down.
Not for rain - however, it has a bunch of tie tabs all around the top of the walls. We could tie up tarps on the rainy side and stay pretty dry. Without a true rain flap over the whole tent, you need to tarp everything inside overnight.

        • Easy to assemble

        • small

        Best Uses

Comments about Eureka Hex Screen House:

With the sloped walls, the space inside feels very cramped. It also does not have any provision for attaching guy lines to strengthen the assembly in windy areas. No shade panels for side either.

          • Light rain protection

Comments about Eureka Hex Screen House:

This tent is difficult to put up, requiring 2 - 3 people, but once up it does the job. I used the plastic stakes once. They are too beefy for my preference. Bought narrow metal stakes, a better fit. Certainly for the money, this is the way to go. It gets you out of bugs and is a haven in a light rain. I have a Eureka backpacking tent and family tent. This is of the same solid quality as those. I go to Eureka first for quality & value for my precious dollars. I was not disappointed in this purchase.

          no ventilation in this screenhouse

          • Easy setup

          Cons

          • Not an excellent sunshade
          • No ventilation

Comments about Eureka Hex Screen House:

I set this up in the backyard to test it out. It went up easily with 4you people. I think 2 people would work well.
i was very disappointed to find that we were bothered by both insects and heat when we sat inside it. There was no air stirring inside, although there was an excellent breeze outside. It was bewildering to be sitting there ina hot tent.
i would not recommend this to anyone.
the two doors are nice, but you have to have them opento get a breeze, which is counterproductive.

            Eureka hex screenhouse is AIRLESS!

            • Easy Set Up
            • Two doors

            Cons

            • Completely airless

            • Useless screenhouse

            Best Uses

            • Desperate for shade
            • Seems to be sturdy
            • Two doors are nice

Comments about Eureka Hex Screen House:

I have been a tent camper for 20 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed my three Eureka tents and expected to love my new hexagon screenhouse. We read the reviews prior to purchase and thought this would be a great solution to our need for an outdoor room when we RV as well as when we tent camp. The insects in both NC and FL can be just awful. So we got this screenhouse, put it up in the backyard to test it out...we were impressed by the ease of set-up, but then we tried to sit in it and enjoy being outdoors. There was no air! No breeze at all, unless we opened a door, and that totally defeated the purpose of a bugless outdoor space!
I just don't get it! What is the use of a screenhouse without ventilation? I did not see this problem addressed in any other reviews.
It appears to be a somewhat effective sunshade, but not a great one. Basically, it appears to be useful to define one's outdoor space at a campsite.
Eureka, I expected more from ya! My tents have wonderful ventilation and I value this in them.
            What's up with this screenhouse?
Oh, I am returning it this afternoon.

              Best Uses

Comments about Eureka Hex Screen House:

The hex shape permitted us the room for the park picnic table and a few coolers. We enjoyed playing games at night using a lantern and the bugs stayed away. It was as easy to break down and pack away as it was to set it up.

Only two types of pole sets, and within a set, the 5 poles are broken into two pieces but tied together with those internal bungee-strings, so they assemble easy.
It assembles as a whole, pretty easy. It gets a little floppy with one person doing the job, but it gets done.
We took it for one 5day trip, and the zipper worked fine, and it did the job

No, you can not buy the tent without the poles and stakes, however, if the zipper is failing becaseu when you zip it up the zipper opens behind the zipper pull, that is an easy fix which can be corrected with the use of our Zipper Rescue Kit, item # 21718. Click link below.
