Yaktrax are easy to put on, and worked very well to give traction on those surfaces. The Pro version adds a strap across the top, which is recommended, as we've had the version without the strap slip off the boots. Pros

Comments about Yaktrax Pro Traction Device: I have used these for several years. They work well on the street, sidewalk, I've even jogged with them. They are fairly flimsy with no lateral traction so I don't recommend them for significant off road hiking. I go through a pair every 1-2 seasons.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Yaktrax Pro Traction Device: Would recommend the small if you are a mens size 9 or less. fit perfect on my 8.5 lug sole hiking boots. These stay on well even on a long hike. They grip better than expected.

Comments about Yaktrax Pro Traction Device: A great winter necessity for Seniors who have mobility and balance issues. Comments about Yaktrax Pro Traction Device: i have a 6 1/2 foot.Regular Yaktraxs and stabilizers always come off and these don't. Pros

Best Uses Comments about Yaktrax Pro Traction Device: Three adults used this product while taking the kids to the snow at a high elevation. The parkway area was extremely icy and slippery. This product made a huge difference walking on the thick ice and through the snow. I was glad we had them available for use. The only drawback was occasionally one would slip off a boot and need to be refitted. However we were in varied terrain and that may have had something to do with it. I will definately take these with us on future trips to the snow.We were all glad to have them with us. Pros

Comments about Yaktrax Pro Traction Device: We purchased a sampling of X-large, large and medium to test fit for our volunteer fire department. Even on our structure boots only the 11 1/2 and 12 could use the large. Medium fit everything else except our one size 8. These worked out great on hard packed snowy roads during vehicle accident response and icy sidewalks. We're ordering 1 more small and 4 more mediums and returning the X-large. Pros

Comments about Yaktrax Pro Traction Device: Strong believer in the need for traction devices for hiking on packed snow and ice. Have used this product for two long winter seasons. Rubber finally broke but durability is satisfactory and I have purchased another pair. X pattern of spiral metal wire provides an extremely stable platform. Stability is good in all directions and they work well on hills and for traversing slopes. Stabiliy is much better than devices that use strings of metal beads. Gives good traction even on solid hard ice so also very good for travel on frozen lakes. More comfortable than devices that use cleats but traction nearly as good. Only downside is that they are difficult to mount on the boot but the relatively complex mounting provides improved stability. Have also seen some very minor damage to vibram sole. Comments about Yaktrax Pro Traction Device: I'vs used them three times so far once on snow covered ice, once one icy concrete, and once in 6" pack snow they performed great on all surfaces. I thought they were kind of small but they stretch and hold good. Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » |
