Comments about Eureka K2 XT Tent:

the fly could go lower along the sides and the side guide ropes don't do much where they are placed, I think they would be much better suited right under the giant Eureka on the two sides, and really do you need the name Eureka! that big on a tent? The vent in the top of the fly seems to add weight without much function, same with all of the pockets on the interior. But a great tent all around.

I have just received this product. I have heard alot about the weight of this tent in as negative aspect. 11 lbs. is not heavy. This appears to be a well made quality crafted tent. Set up was easy.
This is just what I wanted.
I still have to test it out. I expect to be using this tent for years.

Comments about Eureka K2 XT Tent:

I have the old fly which in severe humidity situations did have some condensation issues when completely sealed up. Especially when myself (6ft, 235lbs) and my 3 small kids were in it. It looks like they addressed the issues well with the new fly design. It also works for packing, etc. if you are willing to share the weight, then no problem. We usually put all our gear and chairs in the vestibule and use the back door which is easier. A great all around four season tent! Just wish they had earth tone colors. Maybe soon.

Used this at 12000 on Mt. Rainier. Held up well against 50MPH wind gusts and blowing ice/snow. Vestibule has plenty of storage. Has plenty of storage pockets built in. Even has built in pocket above head to store wet gear in that drys incredibly fast if it is a bit sunny outside!!

Great for cross Country Trips where the 4-Season capability is critical. Our first Test use was in the Great Smoky Mountain NP, but we expect to carry this tent in our car/van whenever traveling from OH to CO, UT and CA due to the frequent need to camp in the mountains during Freezing weather. We added the Coleman Catalytic Heater for use when we camp near our vehicle.

Comments about Eureka K2 XT Tent:

I purchased this tent ten years ago. If I could only own one tent, this would be it. Bought this as I was carrying thousands of dollars of camera gear with me on canoe and kayak trips. After riding out severe storms in lesser tents, I decided to invest in one that could handle the hail and high winds. Works great for this purpose. A bit warm in the Texas summer. Also works well for two adults and medium size dog. Large vesibule is great for gear storage, would definately buy another....especially since it has been updated with more ventilation.
