I was reluctant to buy these as I've owned very similar folding scissors that I picked up from bins/tubs at sewing shops, hardware stores and tool sales. Those all ended badly. These are very sturdy, made to high tolerances and as sharp as they need to be.

Because they are small and the fact that you never know when you might need a pair of sissors I have a pair in each of my cars, in my boat and in my tool box.

Keep one in my purse, one in my travel toiletries bag, one in the car, and put them in stockings. Handy. Not heavy duty, but good in a pinch. Everyone needs a pair of scissors once in awhile (like at a horse show to cut braiding yarn!).

I bought these scissors for outdoor and travel use (to have a pair of scissors that I could carry through airport security). They seem just fine for those uses. I have noticed that, when I push them together to collapse them, I have to be a bit careful not to push too hard or too far. I haven't tried to carry them through security yet, but I think they should be OK.
