Comments about Stewart Mfg. Co. Speedy Stitcher: I've used this sewing awl since I was a kid. I first used my Grandpa's, then my Dad's now I own one. It is the same sewing awl throughout the years. I'm glad at least one company has maintained their quality since their beginning. This is a must have item for anyone. Repairing or new projects, this sewing awl is tough and can handle most leather 1/4 inch or less and any tarp or sail material.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Stewart Mfg. Co. Speedy Stitcher: This is an ingenious little tool. Its beauty is in its simplicity. Just started using it today. I repaired two camp chairs and re-attached the velcro patch that wraps around the handle of my range bag. It has already paid for itself. I highly recommend this product.

Comments about Stewart Mfg. Co. Speedy Stitcher: I have owned a Speedy Sticher for over 35 years and have repaired so many of my personal items. I have saved many dollars over the years by not having to replace that chair, tarp, purse, strap, car seat, tent, and many many more items.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Stewart Mfg. Co. Speedy Stitcher: This is the 2nd one of these I bought. The other is 30+ years old and still working fine.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Stewart Mfg. Co. Speedy Stitcher: I used the speedy stitcher to attach lash patches to my backpack. It was easy to poke through the thick plastic of the patch and the pack fabric. It's the only inexpensive stitching tool I know of that would accomplish the job so easily. I expect it to work great on leather projects as well.

Comments about Stewart Mfg. Co. Speedy Stitcher: Wasn't sure what it was, but heard an adventurer who walked the Amazon say he carried one and it saved his butt over and over given how equipment deteriorates in the jungle. Once you get the hang of it, repairs are easy. In the first hour repaired a canvas camp chair, a cordura contractor's briefcase and an army surplus courier bag I used in college. Right there it paid for itself. Going to get some black waxed thread so I can repair a leather jacket. I found it useful to sharpen the needle on a fine hand stone.
