If this bottle is not stored and kept in an upright position, disaster can occur in you backpack. I left this product at home and used a cough medicine cup to measure my fuel. Find a different cap with a spout and this can be put back into service in my trips.

Comments about Equinox 8 oz. Alcohol Fuel Bottle w/Dispenser Top: If it leaks when new it is probably due to a burr on the outside or inside edge of the mouth where the mold creates a seam. Remove the offending cap and feel for a burr on the rim of the bottle. Trim lightly with a sharp knife of file gently with a nail file.

Alcohol Fuel Bottle w/Dispenser Top: It's slender and great for measuring, but since it leaks, it has to remain upright in the pack inside doubled zip bags to ensure the leaks are contained. That single flaw negates all the positive aspects. I wouldn't have bought it had I known it leaks simply because I don't like to deal with the messiness of spilled liquids even if they are contained in plastic zip bags.

The pre measurements are in graduated measurements on the side of the bottle. So you would pour out the desired amount of alcohol through the dispenser top.Answered on 2/17/2011 by Steve from CampmorA:
You simply open the flip spout and squeeze the main chamber (leaving the fill cap tight). This forces the fuel up the tube/channel on the edge and into the measuring chamber.
