I actually used it on a Eureka "Alpine" version since I could not find the original, but though slightly smaller in width it worked perfectly

Comments about Eureka Timberline 4 Fly:

I have used many tents over the years and have led many group camping trips to experience a wide variety of tents.

The Eureka Timberline is nearly so perfect that it has stayed around for more than thirty years.

Pound for pound, this is a very efficient tent. It's rectangular shape is all useable unlike the the geodome designs with unuseable corners.

This is a tent for shelter rather than entertainment. There is plenty of space for sleeping comfortably, but not a tent to hang out in. The height is enough to change clothes while on your knees.

If you are buying a tent to keep you out of bad weather, this is it. The Eureka Timberline has a long and proud reputation for standing up to battering rain and howling wind. If you are really in some trecherous wind, there are additional buckles to add guy lines for security and strength.

This traditional Eureka Timberline design does have advantages over other Eureka designs and other tents. First, the space between the rainfly and the tent is more than most tents. This helps protect from rain and prevents the fly from clinging to the tent and eventually letting rain in.

Another convenience is the clips to fasten the tent to the frame. Other tents use sleeves that the poles have slide through - sleeve designs are a major pain in the butt.

This tent has two doors which is especially convenient so that folks can get out to go pee at night without crawling over everybody else in the tent. Ya, sounds funny, but think about it.

I highly recommend the optional vestibule which adds a lot of storage space for boots, packs, clothes bags, etc

These tents last for many years with much use. I have had one that has been used hundreds of times over the past 25 years and is still in excellent useable condition.

All in all, this is a reliable shelter and pound for pound very space and weight efficient. The price is very reasonable especially condering the weather protection this tent provides and the years of service it will give.

Daughter has slept out for the last 115 days in the backyard. Shooting for Oct 1st.
Last year she slept out for 86 days. Never got wet through some very heavy rain storms. The tent was bought new in 1991.

Comments about Eureka Timberline 4 Fly:

I recently purchased a used Eureka! Timberline tent at a garage sale. It needed a new rain fly and this is the replacement.

I have used Timberline tents for almost 20 years. I still have my original tent. With a little fine tuning they are watertight and very durable. This tent along with a vestibule for it were given to my youngest daughter because she is the only one in the family without a Timberline.

The Eureka! Timberline tents are almost completely repairable due to the availability of parts - the reason I ordered the rain fly. If you damage a part just order a replacement. The worn out tents can be also used for spare parts.

I will never buy another Eureka Aframe, the structural pipes are bending and opening at the seams, and the plastic Joiners of the pipes are cracking at the seams.a very poor product not made well as this is my third tent of that brand for many years but this one is the worst, and I have this 4person stormshield Eureka for only 2 years

              A:

You have to keep the coils clean. The separation issue results from dirt. Once separation starts to happen, you would need to replace the sliders. Campmor does have a repair department. You can speak to them, by calling 800 525 4784 and ask for the repair department.
