Our neighbor who has been camping most of his life showed us how to put it together and it really wasn't that hard once we got the hang of it. The only issue that I had was the fact that it is supposed to sleep 6 and hold 2 queen mattreseses comfortably. It fit one comfortably and we had to fold the other one.

Kept us well protected (dry/warm) using the rain fly. Easy to set up and tear down. I didn;t use all the features due to time constraints so can't comment on the springs for the window, lighting, etc.Not sure I would go for the lighting again. A lantern works just fine and saves about $50.Overall - good product, quick ship, usual high quality customer experience. Overall recommend.

It's been up in the back yard - and now that it is getting colder, will probably be up in the basement! There is plenty of room and it is easy to put up and take down.

I have a Coleman Hanging Organizer and was disappointed with no hooks to hang. Ridged door is nice, but tends to not seal without pulling up to velcro strips.

Comments about Coleman Elite Sundome - 12'x10' 6 Person Tent with LED Light System: This tent is for car camping, it is way too heavy for backpacking. I'd rate the capacity as sleeps 2 comfortably, 4 reasonably, and 6 if-you-have-to. I bought this for the 'hinge' door and it was well worth it - I will never go back to zippered tent doors. The lighting system was a pleasant bonus. The light was surprisingly handy and the power pack had a USB charger for cell phones, ipods, etc. - a nice, functional, touch. The basics are well-done: fast simple set up, quality material, and functional design. The ceiling is high but the walls slope in quickly so there's limited standing room, a reasonable trade off for the simple set up and sturdy design. I've been backpacking & camping over 30 years and feel this tent's features (door and power) are the most valuable additions to tent design in terms of comfort & convenience in many years. The tent is a solid design and the extra features are worth the extra money.

1) Yes the door is both hinged and zippered. We left it unzipped during the day to take advantage of the hinged door feature but zipped it up at night.
2) While you can zip up all the interior windows there is a large mesh ceiling which helps airflow but I imagine will be less welcome in cold weather. I have been considering how to make this tent more cold weather friendly as well. Other than I catalytic heater, I am considering draping a heat reflective survival blanket over the top of the frame, underneath the rainfly and securing with clips to see if that works.Answered on 10/13/2010 by Coast and Mountain Camper from San Diego, CA
