Water-Repellant Cotton Canvas is the 'old time' material that they used to make tents from. It is water repellant and breathable. It is a 2 ply 10 oz. 'Army Duck' cotton canvas. It can be used to repair or make tents, awnings, boat covers etc. It has better UV resistance than either nylon or polyester. Sold by the yard (3 ft). 35" wide.

This is breathable but highly absorbent. Cotton duck will get exceedingly wet so it would not be appropriate for a foot print for a tent.Answered on 8/13/2010 by Steve from Campmor
