Comments about Dac Inc.-Vehicle Tents DAC Explorer 2 - Minivan and Sport Utility Vehicle Tent: Awkward for one person to set up. Much better with two people.

Comments about Dac Inc.-Vehicle Tents DAC Explorer 2 - Minivan and Sport Utility Vehicle Tent: When I want to get away for a weekend camping trip I just want to go. I've got all my kits pre packed and I just take my bike and hiking boots. I don't want to mess with big tents and/or RVs. I thought this SUV tent would be perfect and it could be BUT the main purpose of it is to keep the mosquitos out but the netting is of the cheapest quality. It needs to be a high quality no see-um mesh. Otherwise the thing is pretty cool. It is easy to put on and fit my Subaru Forester easily and well. Follow the directions in the steps listed and you would not have any trouble getting this on snugly. The hatch will not be fully open. You car's hatch door will be level with the top of the car. I returned it because I did not think the poor quality of the mosquito netting justified the price. I did not test it in rain and or heavy wind but the over all construction and tent fabric seems like a good quality. I'll stick to my ground tent for now.

Comments about Dac Inc.-Vehicle Tents DAC Explorer 2 - Minivan and Sport Utility Vehicle Tent: I saw one of these on a friend's Subaru Forester when I was at a music festival and thought it was the coolest thing ever. I sometimes sleep in the back of my Subaru Outback for short (usually overnight) camping trips and this will be perfect for those occasions. Obviously, it's possible to sleep in your SUV without this, but the benefits this SUV tent provides are screened ventilation, more space, a quieter way in and out (without opening/closing car doors) and hopefully also keeping rain and bugs out. Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Dac Inc.-Vehicle Tents DAC Explorer 2 - Minivan and Sport Utility Vehicle Tent: I set it up in the garage and it fit the Ford Escape perfectly. Haven't taken it out on a trip yet. The materials and construction seem to be very good. Nice design. Two people can break the tent down and stow it in about a minute! Glad we got it, can't wait to use it. Pros

Comments about Dac Inc.-Vehicle Tents DAC Explorer 2 - Minivan and Sport Utility Vehicle Tent: I've used my hatch tent annually since I got it in 2006, when I go to a several day retreat/festival. Up until last year I used it with my van, but by last year I had downsized to a Mazda 3 hatchback and I was still able to camp in my car (a little more confined, of course, but still workable!) I love the convenience and compactness of sleeping in my vehicle at events where space is at a premium, so I'm up off the ground, wherever I'm parked, and I don't need to worry about trying to secure tent pegs into the ground (like if I'm in a parking lot!). The only thing that I would change/improve is the way the fabric hangs down the side of the vehicle between the roof and the bungy at the bottom. With contours in the body of the vehicle I've ended up with open spaces that mosquitos could fly through, so what I do is use magnets down the side of the fabric to hold it close to the body, thus eliminating the spaces.

Comments about Dac Inc.-Vehicle Tents DAC Explorer 2 - Minivan and Sport Utility Vehicle Tent: Works great on our 2002 Nissan Xterra. Sometimes it's nice to load some gear up, drive to the mountains to an out-of-the-way place, and just sleep in the back. We have plenty of extra tent room when using it with our Xterra. Keeps out bugs and water, which is all I expect it to keep out, with no problems. Those who complain about it not fitting well seem to have really high tailgates when raised. Easy set-up for those who like to go camping on a whim without lots of gear and who want to get off the ground with the experince of nature for a night.
