When we car camp, comfort and ease of use is important. We bought the truck tent to lengthen the bed for sleeping because, while I fit into the truck no problem, my boyfriend needs a touch more foot room than allowed with the tailgate and window closed. The tent gave us exactly that.

It is not tall enough to accommodate the lift on the 180 and as a result, the lift actually tilts down which results in a "head bonk" when entering and exiting. also, the bug screen mesh is too big and gnats, black flies and mosquitoes can easily penetrate it. Lastly, the zippers seem very flimsy and am not confident they would last very long. I love this concept, but unfortunately will have to return because i can't accept the cons.

Comments about Dac Inc.-Vehicle Tents DAC Mid - Size Truck Tent: This is my 2nd DAC truck tent. I had one for my Ford F150 and now I bought this mid-sized one for my new Ford Ranger. It makes camping in a camper shell much more comfortable. I am 6'3" tall so a standard short bed is a bit cramped to sleep in. This tent extends the length of the truck bed because it is set-up with the tailgate down. The screen allows for ventilation without the bugs. When it gets cold simply zip up the canvas fly. I used my old one heavily for 10 years without an issue. For around a $100 this is a true bargain. Also, I can't tell you how many times people have admired it in campgrounds and KOA's. I breeze in and out of places with ease. Sometimes the RV crowd are a bit envious.

Gave us a bit more room than in just the pick-up bed, and bug-free air circulation was a plus in south Georgia in June (which is not the most comfortable place to camp due to bugs and humidity :-)
