Comments about Campmor Ultralite Extension Poncho/Tarp: I use the product as rain protection on wildreness trails, and if I had to, as a shelter. Its great because of its compactness, and the fact that it is big enough to cover me and a full ALICE pack. Bad thing about it is that although it has a few useful snaps I am always afraid that they may end up ripping the fabric.

Comments about Campmor Ultralite Extension Poncho/Tarp: Versatile product -- very light weight and adds options when backpacking or just traveling. I've carried it with me on a recent trip, but not needed it, so I've just tried it on so far. It's light and small enough (slightly less than half the packed size and much lighter than my older mil surp poncho)that I don't mind carrying it along whether for a day or longer.

Comments about Campmor Ultralite Extension Poncho/Tarp: Bought one each for myself and my wife, they were used in Glacier National (July) and Yellowstone (June) in 2010. Yellowstone was especially wet in early June - snow and rain - and had a number of chance to use the poncho. In Glacier it was not as wet, but we did use the poncho on a couple of occasions, and we even hit some hail on one hike!

Comments about Campmor Ultralite Extension Poncho/Tarp: Used this as an ultra light, multifunctional piece on a 2 week stint on the Superior Hiking Trail. Was very happy I had it. Worked great as a rain poncho, and was an easy set up for providing a sheltered food prep area outside my tiny ultra-lite tent - it rained a fair amount that trip. It is hot, as it doesn't breathe at all, but when balanced against honking gear up and down the goat tracks and sharp elevation changes along this trail, it made me happy to know I had a wee 10 oz or so on my back as insurance against hypothermia inducing rain while hiking or hunkered down making chow before passing out after a long day on the trail. The only time it isn't buggy in MN is when it is cold, so I'll likely never find out how cool it would be to just use the thing as a shelter by itself - but this is a great piece of very functional equipment. Great wind and rain barrier, whether on your body or pegged down with sticks/hung between trees/propped up with your hiking poles. Two thumbs up!

Comments about Campmor Ultralite Extension Poncho/Tarp: Bought for backpacking for multi-day pack cover/poncho/hammock cover use. Quite roomy and comfortable, and fits well over my Grand Trunk UL. Light enough to throw in even when bad weather is not expected. great features with snaps to pull the back up when you're not wearing a pack. Integrated hood with drawstring. lots of tiedown loops. And even lighter than my Sea-to-summit ponchotarp. It's also less clammy that the S2S.

On the 104" side there are 3 ties no grommets. On the 58" side 3 ties no grommetsQ:
Can 2 of these be attached together for a larger shelter for me and my wife?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
To use these as a dual shelter you would need to overlap the ponchos so that the water would not come through the seam. Also the cross over seam would need to be at the apex of the shelter so water would flow away from the seam. This said I do not see any reason this can not be done.Q:
Do you have picture of this when used as shelter. I'm looking one which have "pyramid" shape...1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Ultralite Extension Poncho/Tarp does not lend itself to a complete pyramid. You can make a wedge against the direction of the weather with an open front. Or more of an A frame which would give better coverage if weather changes while sleeping.Q:
Any photos or information about using it as a rain fly, especially over a hammock?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Ultralite Extension Poncho/Tarp you would want to tie off the hood and suspend the paonch as a tarp from 4 corners above the hammock. An added setup you may want to incorporate is when you tie of the hood do so with a bite in the rope then tie a line through the loop and guy out to keep a taught roof line.
