Can this product be used on canvas tents? The tent in question is over 40 years old and in great shape but would love to seal the seam on the sides and around the bottom of the tent where it meets the ground. Thanks2 answers
A:
Silicone seam sealer is not good for canvas tents. Canvas tens seam hold swell in wet weather and the stitch holes contract and make it very difficult for water to enter unlike a synthetic tent. If the floor of the tent is a synthetic material like polyester, nylon or polyethylene you may want to seam seal the floor seams with a standard seam sealant like Seam Sure.A:

Silnet is for silicone waterproof fabrics. You can look at the seam sure for more standard nylon and polyester fabricsQ:

Apply to just the seams.
