Ultra lightweight tarps made of 1.1 oz. silicone impregnated ripstop nylon. Very strong and extremely water resistant. Almost ½ the weight of traditional tarps. Grommets on outside edge (about every 2½ feet). Nylon ties sewn in on center seam for more pitching options. *Note: Traditional seam sealers will not work with silicone impregnated materials. A silicone based sealer must be used such as Silnet #20071. Made in USA.

Comments about Equinox 8 ft. x 10 ft. Ultralight Backpacking Tarp: Used this on a recent 2 night trip to the Catskills instead of my tent. Temps down to -4F, snow and wind gusts to 25mph. Kept me nice and dry and out of the worst of the wind. I did seam seal it before taking it out into the field.

Comments about Equinox 8 ft. x 10 ft. Ultralight Backpacking Tarp: Ties across middle are a nice touch. Pitches well and keeps out the wind and rain. Expansive room for one, comfortable for two. I sealed the seams with silnet and used it in light mist the same day. Very light and packable. 1x3x7 when folded and compressed. The grommets are plentiful along the edge but are a little too small to accommodate sticks as pegs. I would prefer ties instead of grommets but it is nothing that can't be overcome with a little paracord.

Comments about Equinox 8 ft. x 10 ft. Ultralight Backpacking Tarp: Used this tarp on a 4 day backpack trip and poured rain on one of those nights. Seam did start leaking after hours of rain, but I hadnt seamed sealed either so my fault there. Im probably putting the tent away for good and going with the tarp from now on!

Is this tarp noisy like hardware store tarps? I'm looking for a tarp more like the type of fabric used for rainfly's on tents. Thanks1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The 1.1 oz. silicone impregnated ripstop nylon is noisier than a standard 1.9 or 2.2 oz nylon or polyseter, however it is not as noisy as a polyethylene tarp you get in the store.
