I have hiked in these socks a few times on an 16 mile backpacker. No hot spots, no slipage. Socks seem to keep my feet nice and dry. Will probably buy another pair or two

I wear them as slippers around the house, and they keep my feet toasty warm even on cold tile floors in winter. Yes, they are a little pricey, but I try to find them when they are on sale. You can't go wrong with Smartwool!

Comments about Smartwool Outdoor Classic Series Merino Wool Socks - Hiker: I got the same socks for myself and sent some to my brother for Christmas. We have both worn them for years. They are comfortable, warm, fairly durable, and I got a great price on sale at Campmor. If the colors weren't so "patchy" I would wear the thinner Smartwool socks to the office every day. As it is, I wear them for my morning run during the winter, and around the house.

He prefers Smart Wool socks to any other socks he has worn. They last a very long time but eventually wear through the heel. Use them as a dust rag after that!
