- Gail Lowe - 10,000 miler, Gail Lowe, is an avid long distance hiker and backpacker. Gail has thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail (2,181 miles from Georgia to Maine) TWICE (the first time in 1991; and again, in 2011, as a 20 year anniversary hike). In 2008, she hiked the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. She has also walked across Michigan on the Shore to Shore Trail, hiked on Michigan sections of the North Country Trail, climbed Mt. Whitney (highest mountain in the lower 48), climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan, and hiked solo in the Brooks Range in Alaska. Gail's shorter hikes include the Florida Trail, Isle Royale, and many others. And she is a very nice lady.
