In the process of trying to find the right size for my first pair of VFFs I ended up ordering four different pairs. Of the four, three had manufacturing defects. They seem to be made of good quality materials, but the quality control of the final product apparently is lacking.

I bought these to use as stream-crossing shoes while backpacking, and brought them along on a hike in the 100 Mile Wilderness in Maine last week. It rained buckets, and I wound up wearing the FiveFingers almost as much as I wore my boots. I hiked at least 30 miles in them. They were adequate on slimy river rocks, *fantastic* on wet plank bridges, and great for slogging through the knee-deep mud that the trail had become.
I would consider them perfect, EXCEPT for one thing: Vibram created a truly frictionless shoe and then ruined it by embroidering their logo just above the big toe. The dot from the 'i' in 'Vibram' bored a deep hole into the top of each of my feet. Once I figured out what was going on, I ripped out the embroidery, and now the shoes are perfect (though my feet haven't healed yet).

I'm sure it wouldn't have happened were they not constantly wet, but since these are water shoes, it seems like a fatal, and completely unnecessary, flaw. The logo is on the sole too, and as one of my hiking partners put it, these shoes are like the White Album. Everybody *knows* who makes them without the logo.

So, if you plan to wear these extensively in wet conditions, use an awl or a seam ripper and remove the embroidered logo before you wear them. Then they're perfect.

I workout/run in the shoes. Wish they came in half sizes. Need a little more room in the oe area.

I bought these shoes specifically to wear doing run/swims as I would be alternating between land and the ocean.They worked great for this and much more!I wore them on boats and they provided great traction.I wore them inside my fins to snorkle which made it easier to wade in and out on a rocky, rough terrain.I wore them to run in and did not have any knee pain or shin splints!Hooray!

I'm an Indian dancer and need to be barefoot for performance. At the same time, once in a while I get an outdoor performance where being barefoot is impossible without injury (Renaissance Faire in summer heat on a black stage, or in the grass with mystery sharp growth landmines). These shoes do the job PERFECTLY, allow a barefoot feel and don't interfere with dance performance at all. :)

I wear the Five Fingers a lot, even around the house. They are great for "toe exercise" and improving balance. I walk a great deal for exercise and enjoy being out of doors. This is my second pair. The first pair didn't fit as well so I don't wear them much, but I love these. I suggest you try them and return them if the fit isn't just right.

I wear them for daily comfort and for light warm-ups.

They feel like being barefoot without the callouses or the pain of stepping on pebbles.

They take a while to put on.

I use these shoes on an everyday basis. Like tennnis shoes. Although I love the fact that I can go kayaking and go into the water without them getting soggy.

Great for walking and physical therapy. Where it's hot all the time and you don't want regular shoes a great alternative. If you don't walk barefoot all the time be sure to ease yourself into wearing them.
