If you look closely at the Vibram FiveFingers size chart, you will notice that the numbers printed across the top of the chart refer to your foot's length in inches, NOT US size. Vibram found that, due to the precise nature of the FiveFingers fit, the most accurate size translation was in inches, not US shoe size (which varies across brands and styles). ***Please measure both feet from heel to longest toe with a ruler in inches and refer to the size chart next to the size pull-down menu for the right size***

Comments about Vibram Fivefingers Men's KSO: KSO, a shoe that I will never run without again. If you want to run with these, start slow or walk with them first. Your calves will let you know this. After your body and legs get used to it, you will never want to go back to traditional running shoes again. My joint health has benefited greatly from this footwear while jogging.

They are protective without crippling or overdone support. Just don't leave them in the sun too many times - they get a little brittle.

My second toe is quite a bit longer than my first, 1/2 inch to be precise, my foot is 10 3/4 inches long, from heel to second toe. Should I go up one size with a 43 (11 inches) or stay with a 42 (10 3/4 inches)? You can not wear orthotics in a Five Fingers. You may want to consult your podiatrist. The Five Fingers will require transitioning into. There are muscles in the foot and lower leg that need to adjust.Answered on 5/13/2011 by Steve from Campmor

I won't be able to check back on this or converse; but when it comes to MMA/kickboxing/BJJ/etc., in my opinion it is always better to go barefoot. That is how you compete, that's how you should train. It get's you more in tune with what you're doing as well, and continuously puts your feet through body hardening.
