Comments about Montrail Badrock Mid OD Hiking Boot for Men: Wore these boots with no break-in in Yosemite and did aprox 20 miles of hiking over 3 days with not one blister. I was so satisfied! I highly recommend these!

Comments about Montrail Badrock Mid OD Hiking Boot for Men: It's not the old HardRocks, but it's not bad. My old Hardrocks are worn out after many hundreds of miles, and Montrail doesn't make them anymore. So I tried these BadRocks. They are a suitable replacement. They feel similar in stability, ankle support, and the thing I like most, the weight. I took them out on a muddy, rainy, stormy day, and the Out-Dry protection worked. I even stood in a creek to rinse them off before getting back to the car, and feet were dry. I won't know about breathability until I get out on a hot day, but I think they'll be fine. The traction problem is a minor weakness. It's in the fore-sole, and only on the most slippery rocks and smooth cement. For example, I walked across my garage floor with wet soles and as I push off, they "loosened" just in front of the ball of the foot. It's hard to describe. But up on a rocky trail, they did okay with good foot placements, and by avoiding the slipperiest looking rocks, which I usually do anyway. They are great on rougher rocks, mud, and log crossings. The sizing seems normal. I always get a half size larger in boots, to avoid toe-banging on downhills. The toe box is large, good for my wide feet. I didn't feel any odd rubbing that would make blisters.

Comments about Montrail Badrock Mid OD Hiking Boot for Men: I have always worn lowtop trail runners, but since I am getting a bit older, I decided to try out these Montrails with more ankle support.

Comments about Montrail Badrock Mid OD Hiking Boot for Men: Great all around. I needed something not too heavy but still with ankle support. These are great so far--sturdy, rigid, but comfy and dry. They're lightweight and look pretty cool too. Too many trail runners just look like bushrapist shoes, and these bad boys have a little style. Will buy Montrail again.
