Placed it in my sink for 5-10 mins to use and everything was fine until it started to inflate to the point that I couldn't tie it around my neck. Then gel would start squeezing out of it. Needless to say I deem it unusable now. Maybe I just had a bad sample, but for [$] I thought I'd try.

But it is a little bulky; a hat that isn't adjustable won't fit if you use it as a headband. Can feel a little clammy next to the skin at times. But the benefits FAR outweigh the disadvantages. Might keep you out of the ER when the heat's extreme.

Comments about BluBandoo Cooling Neckbandoo: I bought this item for a charter boat fishing trip. It was a day trip and the weather was sunny. I got one for me and one for my brother. We were both grateful to have them. the sun was hot and not much of a breeze. We dipped them in the cooler a couple of times to really cool us off. My boss was also on the trip and he asked about the Blubandoo. The following week he bought a box of them to give out to the employees, because the air conditioner at work was down. I think I started something. It was fun to see everyone at work walking around wearing the Blubandoo.

Though nothing short of a room with AC will stifle that kind of heat, the neckbandoo's helped considerably. Two days after the hike, they were still active and cool to the touch. I want a shirt made out of this stuff!

I'm no expert, but so far as I know, the material is non toxic. It's annoying to have those gelatinous particles, I know. It's important not to let the bandaloo soak too long, as it plumps up so much it can put a strain on the fabric and cause the tearing.
