I'm doing a canoe/portage trip in June. I will be in the boundry waters. Trails can be very rocky and apparently there is deep muck that can suck off a boot. They are recommending army jungle boots. The Ahnu Kentfield Hiking Shoe would be good because they are an open shoe which can be rinsed off and dry quick. As for being sucked of in mud, it is a low shoe so it will come off quicker than a jungle boot.Answered on 5/15/2012 by Steve from Campmor
