The Danner Zigzag are not insulated. They are water proof. The Zigzag is better for fall and spring hiking not deep winter.. An insulated winter hiking boot is recommended for cold snow hiking.

According to our footwear dept., these boots run "small". Their suggestion is to go up a 1/2 size. It has a normal arch. With any footwear, you would only know if they fit by trying them on.Answered on 11/14/2012 by Bob from Campmor

2. Do they run true to size? I wear a B but need to be sure of enough room for the outside of my little toe as I am subject to bunionettes if a shoe does not have enough width there.

The Danner Zigzag Trail GTX Womens Hiking Boot has remove able insoles so they can be replaced with your orthotic.
These are a true B with and have good room in the toe box. If you are going to use with a cushioned sock and as a hiking and backpacking boot, I would or 1/2 size up to accommodate the slight swelling of feet when exercising.Answered on 10/19/2012 by Steve from Campmor
