Reviewed by 4 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-4 Comments about Danner Talus GTX Waterproof Hiking Boot - Regular Width: I have a tough time finding boots that fit. I'm a size 13 with wide toes and narrow heels. 13W's fit great in the toe box but I'm swimming in the rest of the boot. The 14D fit snugger but had too much heel lift. I tried different lacing techniques and insoles, but couldn't stop the heel lift so I returned them. I wish they did fit my foot because they seemed like sturdy boots. Leather uppers, full rubber rand, Vibram sole & Gore-tex. Pros

Comments about Danner Talus GTX Waterproof Hiking Boot - Regular Width: Very pleased. I bought the boots for a trip to Alaska, and got what I wanted: a lightweight, waterproof boot that I could wear whenever I needed something more rugged and protective than sneakers. The upper is soft and at times I felt vulnerable but so far I've suffered no twists or injuries. For my taste, if the upper part was a tad stiffer or more rugged they would be perfect.

Comments about Danner Talus GTX Waterproof Hiking Boot - Regular Width: I haven't gotten too far off road with these yet, but I have spent a good bit of time with them and they have impressed me so far. They are great in the mud, comfortable to wear all day, and handle wet conditions without a hitch. They are a bit warm if it's above 65 degrees, but I expected that from an all leather boot. I would definitely recommend them to a friend without hesitation.

Comments about Danner Talus GTX Waterproof Hiking Boot - Regular Width: I am an avid camper and flyfisher and these boots travel through all kinds of terrain and weather without any problems. They were comfortable from the moment I put them on and that's definately a first for me.

Q:
I have read some reviews that suggest ordering a half size down. I wear a size 9.5 but have a size 10 in most hiking boots. What size should I order-suggestions please.1 answer
A:
This would be very bad advise. I would recommend a 1/2 size up. Two reasons for this. this is a heavy weight hiking boot so the likelihood of you wearing a liner and a thicker cushioned sock is high. Another issue is that as you hike you foot expands and if the boot is too short you will get blackened toe nails and damage to the foot tendons.Q:
what is shank length 1/2 , 3/4 , ect.1 answer
A:
Danner Talus GTX Waterproof Hiking Boot - Regular Width has a 4" shank through the center of the boot.Q:
