The first time I wore them it was a cold snowy day in Upstate Northern NY and I was outside for 4 hrs in 5 degree weather with 18 inches of snow falling. My feet stayed warm and dry. I'm so glad my wife bought me these boots!

Comments about Hi-Tec Altitude IV Hiking Boots - Men's: I bought these boots for use in day hikes and for all-day walking in a variety of environments, including urban, rural and moderately rugged off-trail walks. These boots are an updated version of ones I ordered several years ago and wore during a winter trip to China. Those were water-resistant, comfortable and saw a LOT of walking and hiking in generally soggy conditions. I wore them all the time in China and they were used for hiking in West Texas as well until I replaced them about four years ago. I have not had the chance to wear this pair much, but can tell already that they will require a break-in period. The design is simple and if these are as good as the first Hi-Tec pair I will get a lot of wear out of them.
