I can normally only wear New Balance shoes due to my wide feet/bunions. I have tried Lowe Renegades and LL Bean hiking shoes, both in wide. The Lowe's killed me, especially in the toe box. The LLBean's are fairly comfortable, but don't quite accommodate my right bunion, so they aren't optimum. What I do like about them is the great traction in their lug soles, and the rubber toe box. They are too heavy for summer use however. I am looking for summer hikers that are lightweight and water-resistant. I am very reluctant to try non-New Balance.
